About
Crawford Strategies has led successful public affairs and communications campaigns for dozens of political, nonprofit, real estate, and labor clients.
At Crawford Strategies, we work on legislative and public affairs campaigns to build public support for our clients’ causes and to advance their agendas. We execute our public affairs programs by orchestrating a wide range of strategies and tactics – including but not limited to: alliance formation, media relations, social media, stakeholder mobilization, opinion research, paid media, and grassroots activities.
Over the last few years, we’ve helped our clients pass a historic constitutional amendment to invest in transportation and public education, win billions of dollars in new education funding, defend the affordable housing tax credit, win two historic increases in the minimum wage, build a new civic space in the city of Boston, organize family child care educators and human service workers, protect the state’s growing film industry, establish the right to earned sick time and paid family and medical leave, highlight community service around the state, and defeat multiple ballot questions that would have caused drastic cuts to local schools.
Much of our work is done with coalitions, and we excel at working with a broad spectrum of different people and organizations to craft a unified message and advance our clients’ priorities. With a deep understanding of the New England media market and extensive experience as spokespeople, we are accustomed to responding to the press on tight deadlines, and maintain strong relationships with news outlets of all sizes, all across the region. We have extensive experience promoting local nonprofits, winning legislative and public affairs victories, and gaining media coverage of special events.

What We Do
We’re a small and effective issues advocacy firm, not a large PR agency. We work with a limited number of clients to advance progressive causes and to promote issues we care about. We intentionally limit the number of obligations we assume so that our clients can count on us to keep them a top priority.
