Project Details
A central part of Governor Deval Patrick’s second term inauguration was a day of service with children from every community in Massachusetts. Taking its name from the number of cities and towns in the Commonwealth, Project 351 brought participants from around the state to Boston, where they made blankets for seniors, painted a community center in Dorchester, sorted food donations at the Greater Boston Food Bank, and more.
With support from the New England Patriots, the Boston Celtics, and other corporate sponsors, students selected by their local school administrator learned how a collective community effort can have a lasting impact.
Crawford Strategies created and executed a communications strategy that placed Project 351 at the center of the Governor’s inauguration, earning considerable media coverage in the Boston media market. We also engaged in an extensive effort to earn media placement in the hundreds of home town newspapers of the student participants.
In subsequent years, Project 351 has been held on Martin Luther King Day. We are proud that our four-year involvement played a part in allowing Project 351 to continue serving students and the community today.
