Crawford Strategies developed and implemented Raise Up Massachusetts’ communications strategy during its successful campaigns to raise the state’s minimum wage (twice!), establish the nation’s most progressive statewide paid family and medical leave program, and pass the state’s COVID-19 emergency paid sick time law. We also worked with the leading progressive coalition in its successful effort to pass the Fair Share Amendment to fund investments in transportation and public education.
Project Details
Crawford Strategies has provided strategic consulting and communications services to Raise Up Massachusetts, a coalition of community organizations, religious groups, and labor unions, since the coalition’s formation in 2013. Crawford Strategies developed and implemented Raise Up Massachusetts’ communications strategy during its successful campaigns to raise the state’s minimum wage – twice, establish the nation’s most progressive statewide paid family and medical leave program, and pass the state’s COVID-19 emergency paid sick time law.
Crawford Strategies also coordinated all aspects of Raise Up Massachusetts’ communications operation for the campaign to pass the Fair Share Amendment on the 2022 ballot and fund investments in transportation and public education. In addition to developing the coalition’s messaging and media strategy, Crawford Strategies developed printed material for the coalition, as well as digital content for the coalition’s website and social media channels.
Throughout our work with Raise Up Massachusetts, we have steadily and authentically built the coalition’s brand by allowing its goals and achievements to take the lead. This work was highlighted in State House News Service stories about Raise Up Massachusetts’ legislative priorities that identified the group as a “powerful worker coalition” and “one of the state‘s most vocal advocacy groups.”
